Because
good health is a blessing, I believe we should work towards
staying as healthy as we can. Together with good nutrition and
lots of exercise, I try to include a shiatsu treatment weekly.
Daichan Shibata is an exceptionally good therapist and is very
committed to his work. I always feel wonderful after a treatment.

My
husband and I first met Mr. Masamichi (Daichan) Shibata in 1988
in Toronto. His friend introduced us and he visited our home.
Daichan was a young man who had acupuncture and shiatsu licenses by the Japanese government. Daichan gave me treatment once a week because I had a weak circulatory system and was also suffering from a stiff shoulder. I had received shiatsu therapy from many different therapists when I lived in Japan. When I received Daichan’s touch, I instantly sensed his gifted hands. His palms and fingertips came to press exactly on the right points without any searching. It was like magic. I had no doubt that he was born to be a healer. My husband and I had a great relationship with Daichan until we went back to Japan in 1990.
Daichan, who is pure, steady, respectful of Nature, and follows the laws of Nature was our important friend and valuable therapist. We had strong confidence that he would initiate himself into the world of the Healing Arts and he would heal many suffering people.
After we left Toronto, Daichan moved to Vancouver. When we heard that he had a busy clinic, my husband and I said to each other, “We were right!! Cheers to Daichan! (Kampai to Daichan)”. We pray that God blesses Daichan’s therapy and that thousands of people are able to heal by his hands.

Daichan
Shibata treated me for about 2 years every two weeks. I came
to him with back pain and out of curiosity. I left with much
more. His treatment is very gentle and his character is very
soft. When you let someone treat you, you want to feel safe
because it requires letting go. He made me feel secured and
professional. Over time he got to know my body pretty well and
this knowledge allowed him to treat me better. He could tell
when I came, in what kind of a mood I was and treated me according
to what my body needed. One of the things that I love about
his treatment is that he doesn't force anything as some practitioners
do. He works according to what the body lets him and over time
I felt my body softened and allowed more. His treatments got
so good that a lot of emotional garbage came up and I could
let go of things from the past that I didn't know were stuck
there. 4 years later I came back to visit Vancouver and craved
for more treatments. That's how I ended up writing this testimonial.

A
twenty-year career in the fashion industry can take a real toll
on your health. Long hours, stress from all sides and external
pressures to meet sales figures coupled with maintaining a personal
life can reek havoc in the body. My stressful lifestyle caught
up with me in 1995. I had so much pain in my lower back and
hip area that I lost 15 pounds; I couldn't sleep, did nothing
physical without terrible pain and eventually could not perform
my job. I took a leave of absence and began to pursue alternative
courses of action to rid myself of chronic pain. I met Daichan
and he immediately began to make a difference with twice-weekly
visits for shiatsu. Within a few visits I was able to walk without
pain and attend yoga classes. After fourteen months of emotional
angst and frustration I began to feel healthy. In 1998 I began
to suffer migraine headaches and again Daichan's healing hands
came to provide relief. We work with shiatsu and acupuncture
to restore physical balance in my body. I really don't know
what I would do without him. I am proud to say that I use nothing
stronger than an occasional Advil and really dislike medications.
He has come to be a part of my regular routine.

I have
been coming to see Daichan Shibata since 1995. I look forward
to my monthly sessions and regard them as a valuable tool in
my preventative health care routine and for stress management.
Daichan’s attitude is very professional and I appreciate that
the clinic and his treatment room are very clean.
As I work in a law firm, most days are very busy and stressful. By the end of the week I’m exhausted and can feel discomfort and tightness in my neck, shoulders, lower back and even in my head and face. If I’m on the computer consistently, my arm and hand ache as well.
Although I arrive for my appointment feeling tense after a hectic day at work, I always leave feeling much more relaxed it almost feels like I have a brand new body again. Shiatsu really helps release the stress and pain that accumulates from a busy lifestyle. I highly recommend shiatsu acupressure treatments.

I have
been seeing M. Daichan Shibata for about six months. He is very
professional and extremely knowledgeable, while providing a
very relaxing atmosphere for treatment. Daichan has been treating
me for a "frozen" shoulder and neck stiffness. Although there
is no cure for "frozen shoulder", I believe that the acupuncture
and shiatsu has helped reduce the pain and stress I had from
being in pain for a long time. My neck stiffness has gone. I
have tried other forms of acupuncture before and found it very
painful. Daichan's technique is not painful. I am a big advocate
of all forms of massage and would recommend shiatsu as the best.
I find it very relaxing and a huge stress releaser.

In
1987 I suffered a whiplash injury. Monthly shiatsu treatments
have been particularly helpful in getting rid of muscle stiffness
and tension enabling my joints to move more easily and with
less pain. Combined with a daily stretching program, shiatsu
has greatly improved the quality of my life.

I '
ve been a patient of Daichan's for a few years now. He presents
himself in a professional manner at all times yet blends his
own gentleness and competence with his professionalism. I went
to him the last time due to an injury in my shoulder from power
washing. The session started with shiatsu and within 20 minutes
I realized that I was breathing deeper and was relaxed. The
needles were inserted towards the end of the session and some
of them I was to keep in for a few days. I didn't feel any discomfort
and was glad I had made the appointment. Also, I have noticed
his treatment room and waiting room are always kept clean. I
recommend him.
